My "contribution" to anthropology
Antropology is the science of humanity. Broadly, it deals with human beings and with all dimensions of humanity (evolutionary, biophysical, sociopolitical, economic, cultural, linguistic, psychological, etc.).So why not interested in how people across counties look?
Initially I was planning to conduct a survey (mostly via google :P) how the people of all world's nations look like (both men and women), but it stroke me that I will have to go in the so undesired zone of "typifying" people, since most of the nations have diversified population and if I have to do it properly I will need more than google to conduct this research in the depths of anthropology.
So instead of putting a paper bag on my head and writing the unwrittable I will just introduce here some pictrures I found online of national profiles in terms of their facial apperance, eyes, hair and skin colours. I will describe how I found each particular photo and give some brief info.
Method: Randomly selecting counties and gender by the method of typing this info into google images: as simple as that :-)

I typed in google images "turkish man". An airline web-site popped up, advertising Turkey Aegean Coast. This picture was supplementary in the ads of the places advertised.
"Located on the southern coastline of the Bodrum peninsula, Ortakent is a quiet, peaceful town, and one of the oldest human settlements in the area. The seaside town of Ortakent Yahsi is a 15 minute walk away, and Bodrum town is easily reached by local bus."

GERMANY

I found this photo in a very intresting website: http://www.mythsclub.com
It lists myths about German people. This picture is suplementary for the myth "German people cannot live without beer" and probably it is taken during Oktoberfest.
CHINA

In my non-professional photographic view, this is a lovely portrait called "old chinese man". I found it in a site about portrait photography http://i1.trekearth.com/photos/37092. The guy has an interesting devise and method of smoking.
ARGENTINA

Actually Argenina ethnic landscape consists of the following groups:
86% European (Italian, Spanish, German)
7% Mestizo
2% Amerindian
4% Other
(my beloved source wikipedia.org)
PAKISTAN

Back to the topic of "typifying", I found this photo in the geocites.com as the first one of a photogallery about Pakistan. The photo is called "A typical Pakistani man". Pakistan has a population of 172,800,000 and the country's capital is called islamabad. 97 per cent of the Pakistan's population is islamic and Punjabi is the most spoken language.
GAMBIA

"Over the years, Gambian women have lagged behind men. This is mainly due to cultural and religious reasons, which have made them believe that they are inferior. This is evident in the special treatment accorded to boys over girls, this continues throughout their lives.
Women have very little decision-making power even regarding their health and that of their children. This has contributed to the high fertility rate of 6.0." More information about the situation of Gambian women can be found on the following web-link:http://www.statehouse.gm/women3.htmRUSSIA

Expressing feelings-> "Russian proverb: "A laugh without a reason is a sign of an idiot." Same thing for smiles. If you are happy you smile, if you are sad you frown. If nothing is going on, why would you show non-existing emotions? To exercise your face muscles? That's silly. As for public displays of affection, it's quite normal too. Russian male model is a tough guy. Tough guys don't feel. At least in public. Look at Terminator!"
General attitudes->"Normally, a Russian doesn't give a dime about society. Society is too vague to care about it. And the state is an enemy of the individual, by the way. What's important usually is a circle of close friends and family.
Devotion to work->"Russians can be very devoted to their work when they like it. If they don't like it they can find 1001 ways to pretend to be working without really doing anything."
Friendship->"A true friend is usually a sacred matter. Things vary, of course, but many Russians are ready for real sacrifices for somebody they consider being a true friend. But often it must be somebody of the same sex.
True love ->"Also many Russians beleive in true love. in true love. With a person of opposite sex (95% of Russain men are homophobic). In relationships they like to dominate (as all tough guys should) but actually are quite vulnerable to emotional displays. "All right, all right, I'll marry you! Just stop crying."
